The Partition of Bengal took place in 1905 during the rule of Lord Curzon, the then Viceroy of India.
The partition divided Bengal into two parts: Eastern Bengal and Assam and Western Bengal.
The British government claimed that the partition was done for administrative convenience because Bengal was a very large province.
However, many Indians believed it was a policy of "Divide and Rule" to weaken the nationalist movement.
The partition led to the powerful Swadeshi Movement, where people boycotted British goods and promoted Indian products.
Due to strong opposition, the Partition of Bengal was finally annulled in 1911.

বঙ্গভঙ্গ ঘটে 1905 সালে লর্ড কার্জন-এর শাসনামলে, যিনি তখন ভারতের ভাইসরয় ছিলেন।
এই বিভাজনের মাধ্যমে বঙ্গকে দুই ভাগে ভাগ করা হয়— পূর্ববঙ্গ ও আসাম এবং পশ্চিমবঙ্গ।
